Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is rooted in my belief that art should feel centered on exploration rather than perfection. Based on my own experiences with perfectionism growing up, I understand how outcome-focused environments can make art feel intimidating or discouraging. Because of this, I take a more exploration-based approach that removes pressure from students and encourages them to engage more freely in the classroom. I aim to create a classroom environment where students feel safe and are supported in building their creative confidence. In my teaching, I emphasize student-centered learning by encouraging students to explore a wide variety of materials and techniques while developing their own artistic style.
