Teaching Philosophy

Hi! I’m Zoe Moon. My teaching philosophy is rooted in my belief that art should feel centered on exploration rather than perfection. Based on my own experiences with perfectionism growing up, I understand how outcome-focused environments can make art feel intimidating or discouraging. Because of this, I take a more exploration-based approach that removes pressure from students and encourages them to engage more freely in the classroom. I aim to create a classroom environment where students feel safe and are supported in building their creative confidence. In my teaching, I emphasize student-centered learning by encouraging students to explore a wide variety of materials and techniques while developing their own artistic style.
